Founded in 1866, the Missouri History Museum houses a collection which includes native and colonial artefacts, items relating to Charles Lindbergh, Louisiana Purchase Exposition artifacts, a replica of the "Spirit of St. Louis" and more. Operated by the Missouri Historical Society, recent travelling events and exhibits of the museum included the Lewis and Clark National Bicentennial Exhibition,
