In Jakarta’s old harbour area known as Sunda Kelapa stands the renowned Maritime Museum which occupies the former warehouses of the Dutch East India Company. Using specially created exhibits and miniature models the museum aims to provide visitors with an understanding of the seafaring heritage of Indonesia’s peoples and the value of maritime activities in the economy of modern Indonesia.
