The imposing Duke University Chapel serves as the focus of Christian worship for the expansive university. Built in the early 1930s the chapel rises 210 feet tall, giving it the status of being one of the loftiest buildings within Durham County. The shrine has the capacity to accommodate 1,800 people and is considered to be a representative example of the Collegiate Gothic style of architecture.
